We do one roof at a time. The average roof is completed in about 4 days. All debris from tear off is taken away on the first day. Our foreman has been with us for 28 years.

Q. Why is hand nailing superior to staples?

A. Hand nailing allows us to install the shingles more securely. Staples can penetrate the shingles too deeply or too shallow.
Many times stapled shingles will blow off of the roof.

Q. Why are metal valleys superior to a weaved shingle valley?

A. The metal valleys will protect the valleys from deterioration due to debris such as leaves and dirt. The weaved valleys will age faster than the rest of the roof.

Comments: Dave Routt was very honest and friendly. He showed me exactly what I could do to repair the leaky roof, effectively giving me the option to just do it myself if I so desired. Since I'm lazy and needed other roof work done, anyway, I went ahead and hired him to repair the roof leak, but also replace all of the ridge caps. And those ugly antennae on the roof...yeah, I had him get rid of those too. (I requested the additional work without any solicitation from him.) Routt was prompt for both the estimate and to start the work. All work was done within a day. One funny thing is he hand writes the estimate and bill, rather elegantly too. Definitely puts my handwriting to shame :). Big plus: he's dog friendly! I didn't have to lock up my dog while the work was being done!
